Finally, all the work was done, the provisions stowed, and the boat was ready to sail. We were leaving in company with Duane and Cindy on Sueno and Mike, Cindy and Cynthia on Dragonheart. We left Mario's on February 19 and motored in no wind to the Golfete, a small lake at the top of the Rio Dulce gorge. The guys used the dinghys to go the 6 miles to Livingstone to check us out of Guatemala. When they returned we discovered that Sueno had engine problems and Dragonheart had battery and power problems. Lyric had a fresh water leak and the windlass was acting up. We decided to return to Mario's for last minute repairs. The comment from 11 year old (going on 35) Cynthia..."You bunch of amateurs. You are ill prepared to go to sea." She's so cute!!!

We remained at Mario's for 2 days and then set off again. Sadly, Sueno could not go on at this time but we saw them again in a couple of weeks in Placencia.
